This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how DirectVision, together with its affiliates, subsidiaries, and related entities, including DirectOD (collectively, “DirectVision,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), collects, uses, processes, discloses, and safeguards information obtained through its website located at https://directvision.us, including all associated subdomains, patient portals, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).
This Policy is intended to provide transparency regarding DirectVision’s data practices in accordance with applicable United States federal and state privacy laws. By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Policy.
DirectVision operates as a technology platform that facilitates enrollment, billing, and administration of membership-based vision care programs offered by independent optometry practices (“Practices”).
DirectVision does not provide medical care, clinical services, or professional healthcare advice. Any relationship regarding care, treatment, or medical services exists solely between you and your selected Practice.
DirectVision processes certain information on behalf of participating Practices in order to provide Platform functionality. In such cases, the applicable Practice is responsible for determining how your information is used within the context of care and services provided.
DirectVision collects information that you provide directly when interacting with the Platform. This may include your name, email address, telephone number, billing information, and other information necessary to enroll in or manage a membership plan.
In connection with enrollment and plan administration, you may also provide information related to appointments, services, or benefits associated with your Practice. Such information is submitted at your direction or the direction of your Practice.
DirectVision may also automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Platform, including IP address, device type, browser information, pages visited, and interaction data. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies and is used to support functionality, security, and performance.
DirectVision uses information for purposes including facilitating enrollment in membership plans, managing billing and payments, maintaining your account, providing customer support, communicating with you regarding your plan or account, and improving Platform performance and functionality.
Information may also be used to monitor for fraud, prevent unauthorized activity, enforce platform policies, and comply with legal obligations.
DirectVision may use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics and operational improvement, provided that such information does not reasonably identify you.
Your personal and health-related information may be used by your selected Practice in connection with services, treatment, or plan benefits. DirectVision does not control how Practices use such information beyond providing the Platform.
Practices are independently responsible for compliance with applicable healthcare and privacy laws, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”), where applicable.
To the extent DirectVision acts as a service provider or business associate to a Practice, such relationship is governed by a separate written agreement and not this Policy.
Payments made through the Platform are processed by independent third-party payment processors. DirectVision does not store full payment card numbers or sensitive banking credentials.
Any financial information provided in connection with payments is subject to the privacy and security practices of the applicable payment processor. DirectVision disclaims any responsibility for the acts or omissions of such third parties.
DirectVision does not sell your personal information.
Information may be disclosed to service providers that support the operation of the Platform, including hosting providers, infrastructure providers, payment processors, analytics services, and communication tools. These providers are contractually obligated to use information only as necessary to provide services.
Information may also be disclosed as required by law, in response to legal process, to enforce agreements, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition.
DirectVision uses cookies and similar technologies to support Platform functionality, improve performance, and enhance user experience. These technologies may also be used by third-party service providers integrated into the Platform.
